Do I have your attention? Good. DO NOT waste your money on either flixs.net or ishareit.com. They are run by the same people and their "service" is nothing but a blatant rip-off.For $23.95 (and that's the cheapest pricing option), you get to download a peer-to-peer file sharing downloading program. Basically, you're paying for what you can get free all over the net. It's Kazaa, but it costs you money, it is slower than my grandmother after she broke her hip and was declared legally blind, my computer (which has been crash free for 5 months) crashed 3 times the first day I ran this, and it is not at all what they seem to be promising you on their site.
I am not a stupid man, and can usually see weblies for what they are. But I looked around and could find no complaints about this site. Guess I should have kept looking. Anyway, now there is at least one place where people can be warned and if this page stops only 1 person from making the same mistake I did, then it was well worth the time and space.
Ever hear that if something sounds too good to be true, it's probably because it is? Well, what these sites promise IS too good to be true.
I wouldn't use this program if they paid me what I paid them.
Then again, this is just my own personal opinion.
Follow-up note: I've recently been contacted by several readers who informed me that this page has indeed kept someone from wasting their money. I've done my good deed.
Yet another follow up: The info contained herein is nearly two years old now, so may now be out-of-date. I doubt the main points have changed, but it may be more stable. Just thought it was important to clarify that point. Personally, I use WinMX, which is free. I've never had a problem with it.
